1. What happens during the hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural trance state. We enter into trance on a regular basis, for example when we get absorbed in reading  or walk in nature. We also enterer the state of trance or hypnosis when we are falling asleep or waking up. The mind is entering different state of brain activity.

Body relaxation techniques and visualisation are used first in order to descent into Alpha  and Theta  brain wave activity when the subconscious mind becomes more receptive.

In this deeply relaxed state, where both mind and body are at ease, it is possible to transform limiting thoughts and behaviours into more positive ones. This process has the power to change your life and your perceptions.

Within the therapeutic setting, positive outcomes are easier to achieve when you keep an open mind and fully engage with the process.

Hypnosis differs from sleep because it is a state of heightened concentration and focus, and, because you are so relaxed and at ease, it is usually a very enjoyable experience. Clients naturally return to conscious awareness; often feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Some people hear my voice during hypnosis, others drift off as they shift their awareness. Both of these responses are natural and will still allow you to access your subconscious mind. In this way; positive changes can be more deeply embedded.

Self-hypnosis can also be achieved when you listen to my relaxation download.

2. Does Hypnotherapy work ?

Hypnosis has been used in various forms for centuries and has a surprisingly robust scientific framework.  Clinical research has shown that it can help relieve  pain and anxiety and aid smoking cessation, weight control and sleep disorders and others. When conducted by a trained professional and properly applied, modern hypnotherapy can provide powerful results with a wide range of our conditions.  Most people underestimate how many physical and mental conditions are caused by underlying and accumulated stress. Hypnosis creates a non-judgmental immersive experience that reduces stress allows the the mind and body healthier functioning and positive transformation.

3.  What is Psychotherapy ?

There are many different kinds of Psychotherapy, all of which aim to help people overcome stress or emotional problems. Psychotherapy involves talking together to help clients overcome their difficulties. Psychotherapy is often referred to as a ‘talking treatment’.

4. How many sessions do I need ?

The number of sessions needed varies as each person is unique .

Client seeking help for the symptoms of anxiety, stress or depression would ask to see me for between 6 and 12 sessions of general therapy,  The therapy process is fast  and we do not do  more sessions than is required. The client is able to observe the change and is able to determine when we reached his desired goal and set the speed of the therapy. This is something that is discussed fully with every client during the initial consultation.

For specific phobias, we have a three-session protocol based on our brain model and the highly effective Rewind technique. For those choosing this option, I’ll happily do an additional complimentary session

Smoking cessation is a single two hour session.

5. Can anybody be hypnotised?

Generally, yes, as long as they want to be!

Whoever says they can’t be hypnotised is right, as you need to be a part of the process and you are always fully in control. Remember, it is a natural state. Hypnosis is simply achieving that state as and when you choose.

Trance is experiential phenomenon. Each trance is its own unique experience. Each individual will experience trance differently, but most people agree that it very calming and relaxing experience that help to transform their unwanted attitudes.

6. What is the cancellation policy?

I understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. I have a 24hrs cancellation policy, which means that if you ever find the need to reschedule or cancel an appointment then please do so by giving me a minimum of 24hrs notice. This will allow another patient, who may need a session, to take the spot. Cancellations made with less than 24hrs notification will be charged at full cost.

7. Are online session as effective as in person sessions?

Online sessions, which have become a very popular alternative during COVID times, are just as effective as the ones done in person. Online sessions can also be mixed in person sessions when needed, e.g. when traveling for work, which helps with continuity of sessions. It allows clients, who are unable to attend in person, to get help they need from any place in the world.

A few important things that help sessions go as smoothly as possible are: good internet connection, fully charged device or access to a charge, an hour of an uninterrupted time and a private place where one can relax.
